A fantastic villa in beautiful surroundings         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great family vacation (3 generations), the house is beautiful and the photos do not do it justice. We were a group of 9 with 6 adults and 3 children and there was more than enough room for all of us. The only problem we had was with one of the cribs so it is worth checking the crib situation if you are traveling with young children, apart from that everything was perfect!

Where to begin...         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is probably the best stay my wife and I have had so far. And we travel the world. The house is big, without being cold or empty,. it´s in fact very cozy and warm. Big patio, huge living room and dining area. Private balcony for the master suite. Private bathrooms for all sleeping rooms. The owners are lovely people who make you feel right at home from the first minute. They have taken all measures to make the guests feel as welcome as possible. The kitchen is especially well equipped since the owners have been in the restaurant business and know what works. The house is standing by it self in an olive grove so you dont have to worry about neighbours peeking over the fence. The pool is large and has a pool house with a shower and toilet. The sunbeds are very comfortable. Short distances to the next village for grocery shopping and only 10-15 min by car to the wonderful town of Ronda. A must visit for all. All we can say is that we look forward to coming back one day. Thanks dear Raynold and Teresa!

A Paradise away from home         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It really is an amazing villa perfect to spend either all your time in or use as base to explore the area. Great location with Arriate a short drive away or Ronda 10 mins away. We were 4 adults and 4 kids. Plenty of sleeping space, great variation of eating areas (veranda, by pool, indoors), amazing big kitchen with lots of food basics (spices, oil, etc.). Two dishwashers which was great for us as we cooked most meals in the villa. BBQ at pool (wood/coal) which is easy to use, keeps hot for a long time and easy to clean. Pool is bigger than it looks on photos and salt water which was nice. We went in mid-May and water temp was good! Lots of toys, games, books etc. for adults and kids. Big garden for kids to run around in. Internet not super strong, works for emails - but ensure you download some movies for the kids beforehand. Great friendly host who was quick to reply both before and during our stay. Very well looked after, super clean for such a big place and overall an awesome place!

Perfect comfort, wonderful home         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We found our stay really lovely. The house is very harmonious, light, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The kitchen is a pleasure to cook in and eating with that view can never get old. So many good books! And the pool was great. Felt like everything had been thought of. The children loved it and felt at home immediately, very safe too as long as they can swim. We will definitely return!

A Wonderful month with the sun and the mountains         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at El Cobijo. The site is beautiful, the house has a soul, in more of being spacious and comfortable. The owners are very nice and helpful, the village of Arriate is quiet and not invaded by busses of tourists, and the sun was in everyday for 28 days in a row... What do you want more, especially when you come, like us, from a country of cold and snow. There are plenty of nice villages around, with plenty of hiking trails, Ronda is always nice, as usual, and you can make it easily to Málaga, Granada and even Sevilla and return the same day if you wish. There is a nice restaurant just entering the village, "El Muelle de Arriate", where Frank is always happy to treat you. It is the perfect house for relaxing and enjoying life.

Lovely stay in a great villa           ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This villa was really luxurious and offered everything we needed for our one week stay. We were most impressed by the standard of the property and it was immaculately clean. We didn’t see anybody but the pool was checked every morning. The water was crystal clear and still cold even with the high temperature we got (38 degrees). We had 4 kids in tow (age 7-9) and this fabulous place worked perfectly to accommodate and entertain them. There were lots of board games, legos and at the hottest moment of the day, the X-Box was a nice distraction. We loved the pool and the large and verdant garden. The rooms are very elegant with wonderful artwork and lots of welcoming touches. Every room has their own facilities and very good (and silent) air-condition. The build quality is exceptional and all bedrooms are quiet and very private. The kitchen is well equipped - and we all ate together at a large table on the veranda, overlooking the valley and the sunset. There are breezes to cool the villa - although it looks as though it would be wonderful even in winter as it has a wood burner and cosy furnishings in the beautiful living room...

El Cobijo         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From my first email to Raynold, our experience with El Cobijo was amazing. He speaks several languages fluently, making it easy to communicate. His depth of knowledge of Spain and his thoughtful, thorough and quick responses made planning our trip so easy. It was like having our own travel agent! The location of El Cobijo is perfect to use as a base for day trips. Raynold arranged for us to hire a wonderful driver, Bernabé, who took 8 of us in a van to Seville (about 2 hours) and Granada (2 1/2 hours) for fun day trips without the worry of parking, getting lost or drinking/driving. The lovely historic town of Ronda is a short drive and closer by is the village of Arriate where we found all we needed for grocery shopping. Raynold also helped us to hire a cook who prepared a wonderful meal for us. The house itself is simply beautiful. There is a professional-like kitchen, alcove for dining, lovely en-suite bedrooms, a comfy living room with olive wood for the fireplace, a large dining room, two dishwashers, two washer/dryers, internet, TV (we never used it!), a pool (not open in March), and a beautiful terrace with stunning views. It's like Tuscany but not as crowded or expensive! We were there with 8 people altogether and found it perfect for us to hang out for meals, do things together or separately, then meet up at the end of the day. Dividing the cost amongst the group made it very affordable, too. I can't say enough good things about El Cobijo and Raynold.

Great property, very well equipped in beautiful location           ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My family and I (9 of us) spent a really enjoyable weeks holiday at El Cobijo, a beautiful, spacious villa in the countryside with stunning views, only a short drive from the most interesting and historic town of Ronda. We have a family holiday like this each year but this was by far the best property we have stayed in. The owner greeted us on our arrival and gave us a most informative and detailed tour of the house, explaining all the facilities and what was available in the area, something that has never happened before in other villas. The house, and particularly the kitchen, are extremely well equipped, probably because it has actually been lived in by the owners, who used to be restauranteurs. We mainly cooked for ourselves and enjoyed the excellent kitchen facilities but the owner also made some excellent restaurant suggestions, one of which we took up and enjoyed a truly memorable evening at a venue only a short distance away. The swimming pool, where we spent much time, was ideal for family bathing and sports and the barbecue by the side of it got considerable use. The bedrooms are spacious and well equipped with en-suite facilities, air conditioning and fans, a great boon in this very hot summer. El Cobijo is the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. We didn't want to leave but came home with some very happy memories of a wonderful holiday. Thank you so much!

Second stay just as good as first           ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We stayed at El Cobijo in March 2015 and were thoroughly impressed. So much, we stayed there again in September of 2016. Completely different group of guests (10 total), but the results were the same. Everyone loved the villa! We were welcomed at the appointed time and the house was immaculate. The kitchen was a joy to cook in, and we made several communal meals. The pool was perfect and we used the BBQ one evening. Great location for day trips to Sevilla, Granada and the mediterranean coast. I would not hesitate to recommend this villa to my friends.

Superb El Cobijo           ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

With seven persons from Antwerp, Belgium we went to Andalusia for a lovely holiday. After staying at El Cobijo for a week, it was with pain in our hearts that we left to return to Belgium. The first day of our stay we had very bad weather, it was raining very hard and there was a lot of wind so we had to stay inside. But it didn’t bother us, because it was so cozy by the fireplace, with a glass of wine and some beautiful Spanish music, everybody was relaxed. The kitchen also is very nice and practical, so we cooked a lot of great meals with fresh ingredients from Arriate. (Which is only 2 minutes away) After that one rainy day, we were lucky because the sun shined every day again. So we went to Cordoba, a beautiful, exciting city not too far away. We also took a trip to a few white villages and to Ronda of course. It was always so nice to return to the quiet of the house and the garden, enjoy the view from the balcony, looking at the sunset and the many stars. The owner of the house Raynold von Samson, is a very kind man, always willing to help and to give useful tips about trips and places.  There’s no doubt that we will rent this amazing house again because we all lost our hearts to Andalucia.

Idyllic villa in stunning locale         ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Is ‘idyllic’ too strong a word? What if your day begins with the crowing of a rooster and the songs of a dozen nearby birds? And lunches are enjoyed on a sunny porch overlooking a breathtaking valley. What if your evening includes an in-home cooking demonstration on the art of making a true Valencia paella shared around a comfortable dining table with eight of your closest friends? And what if bedtime meant retiring to a comfortable bed in a beautifully appointed bedroom with screened-in windows to let in the sweet night air? On a more practical note, El Cobijo made it easy for our group to live together seamlessly. There were plenty of private spaces to curl up with a book, a well-organized kitchen with a handy island and two dishwashers, en-suite private baths, a gorgeous swimming pool with assorted pool toys, and two convenient washers and dryers. And you couldn't ask for better hosts. Raynold and Teresa were easily accessible when we needed them—with everything from nearby restaurant recommendations to tips about Ronda and other nearby places to visit. So is ‘idyllic’ too strong to describe one of the best weeks of our lives in one of the most stunning locations we’ve ever experienced? Hardly.
